Pulitzer winning author Jhumpa Lahiri's second book 'Namesake' is an excellent rendition of an immigrant family's silent struggle in America. In her book, she delicately weaves the first-generation immigrant parents' varied struggles to accept the new found identity in adopted land. Though penned in a very simple style, the cultural dichotomy of the Namesake's lead family may reflect very well with many expatriates. Deep down, the story highlights the blissful innocence of an immigrant family lost in ambitions and cultural disenchantment.
