Historians have said that India went into the 1983 World Cup as underdogs, rated 66:1 in odds market, but ended up being crowned champions of the world on June 25 that year. "The spirit among the boys was incredible. I don't know what specific reasons enabled us to attain that kind of spirit but I believe it was the most vital character of that triumph", man of the match Mohinder Amarnath said after India's incredible victory. That was the key.. "spirit and character". As in any nation & in any field, these two vital attributes defined Indian team at that moment of history and helped them redraw the national fabric which we still wear and enjoy today. Is it too naive to question, why we are still wearing 25 year old attire and not gotten new clothes yet?

Watch 50 minutes of that spirit & character ultimately winning the world cup for India
