ಇದೇ ವರ್ಷ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ೧೮ ಅಂದು, ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡೆಮಕ್ರ್ಯಾಟಿಕ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬರಾಕ್ ಒಬಾಮಾರವರು, "ಜಾತಿ..ಕುಲ.. ಹಾಗು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ"ದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ, ಮನಬಿಚ್ಚಿಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು .ಅವರ ಐತಿಹಾಸಕ ಪದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾದ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಂಶಗಳಿವೆ.

Exactly 48 years ago, another democratic presidential nominee in American politics faced similar criticism and attacks on grounds of his catholic religion and his association to a particular church. He too gave a historic speech on religious issue in politics and the separation of church and state in front of skeptical audience. This speech inspired not just Americans by large, but the whole generation of leaders/governments across the world to keep religion in check when it comes to governing.
